It’s time for the first author talk in far too long.
Acclaimed Swedish author, musician, and storyteller Annika Norlin joins us in conversation to discuss her debut novel The Colony — a striking, thought-provoking exploration of the human need for connection and the cost of longing to live differently.
Recently published in French by La Peuplade (La Colonie, translated by Isabelle Chereau), The Colony takes us deep into the Swedish wilderness, where seven people have chosen to live apart from society — far from schools, healthcare, and the structures of modern life. Watching them from a distance is Emelie, a woman burnt out after years of precarious work, who has fled to the forest in search of peace. As she draws closer to the group, cracks begin to appear in their utopian dream, exposing questions of power, belonging, and what it truly means to start over.
Join us at Bokbar Paris to hear from Annika Norlin on Tuesday, 25 November. Doors open at 7:20 pm, with the conversation starting at 7:30 pm. The talk will be in English and moderated by Rebecca.
An evening of literature, conversation, and reflection — and the return of a long-awaited author gathering.
